6/12/09 Yankees vs. Mets

I had one goal for today: Get my 100th MLB ball this season. I would go to all limits to achieve, whether it be ballhawking at the bullpens non-stop, or getting 3rd out balls.

But back to the game (I would like to point out though, that I saw a cop talking on his cell while driving on the way to the stadium.) I could only carry my small camera. And I arrived probably a couple minutes late. When I got in, I saw Wang throwing near the auxilary scoreboard,

wang throwing way off in distance

but Gary Kowal had that, so I sat down for a bit. After that “bit” I moved over to the Yankees dugout, along with a kid following me, and my exact path. Well the kid stayed in a spot at one end of the dugout, I stayed at another end. I moved over to where Rob Thompson and Xavier Nady (who were throwing) would go in (who are in the photo also.)

I easily got Rob’ attention. The music was down; nobody was near me, ah nice and easy. I got him to toss me my 1st ball over the partition.

rob thompson ball1

I then decided to help the 7 or 8 year old kid get a ball. I got Tony Pena’s attention and point to the kid. He asked me to catch it to be safe. Well guess what? He tossed it short, it bounced off my glove, and right to the kid who grabbed. It was commemorative. The kid was Gary’s brother. And after I missed it Tony commented:

“What, you eat with those hands?”

I went back over to Wang, now in the bullpen, saw the crowd, and moved to the bleachers.

wang in bullpen

I didn’t get that ball so I moved back over to the dugout.

Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera, and A-Rod had been doing drills with balls with a trainer when they came in. I got Cano’s attention and asked for a ball (this is A-Rod and Melky going in at the same spot as Robinson Cano.)

arod and melky1

He kept looking at me, and then some kids off to the right, to me, then the kids, to me, then the kids, but before he went in he tossed me my 2nd ball.

robinson cano ball

I was then that I realized that the Yankees weren’t having B.P. So I went over to the Mets’ dugout. It was extremely crowded at the dugout, I got nothing. I moved over to the foul line when the Mets did, and the crowd followed. But then I heard something pleasant to me, but bad to others:

“Alright its 5:40, have your tickets out!”

Yes! The Mets had finished throwing, and the crowd had started to dissipate. I got Ken Takahashi’s attention easily and he tossed me my 3rd ball.

In the photo above Ken Takahashi is the player in mid stride going towards the State Farm sign above the auxilary scoreboard.

            Now for a little fun…

All the pitchers had gone to the outfield, and it was Sheffield‘s round of batting, so I stood a couple rows back with him being a known pull hitter. I saw a high, definitely foul ball, not hit by Sheffield. I ran towards it, but then it came smack dab down. It landed right in the seat and got wedged there. Had it been the Old YS it would’ve bounced out, but the shock resistant, noise absorbing pads prevented it from leaving and I picked it up for my 4th ball.

the seat of my 99th ball

This is the seat…

my 99th ball of 2009

And this is the ball. Notice the blue mark from when it landed in the seat.

After looking closely I think it was hit by Fernando Martinez.     Oh and one more ball until my 100th ball this season. I moved into one of my favorite spots:

                        The Corner Spot.

There was only one ball that came there while I was in that spot. It was now or never. It was a bit too far out. I had to time my jump perfectly or I would miss it. When I jumped I held myself back with one hand on the wall. One usher thought that I was going to fall over and he held my leg just in case. So when I reached out, I heard a pop. I looked into my glove,

my 100th MLB baseball in my glove

and saw my 5th ball in the pocket with room to spare. And it was also my 100th ball of my life (since I started counting) and my 100th ball of 2009.

my 100th mlb lifetime ball

So the game went by fast. I was very amused at the last part. I downright loved it. I made my way over to where some guys where pointing cell phones down into the legends. Who was it? It was “Doc” Gooden. So after the game we ran out to the Legends exit and waited for him. Eventually he came out and he signed my 1st autograph.

doc gooden

Shutout averted. But I also someone else I recognized. I found out it was Steve Schirripa. I got his autograph for my 2nd autograph. He’s a celebrity. He counts.

6/6/09 Yankees vs. Rays

I arrived early for the first time in eons.

the outside of the old yankee stadium

And I saw that. It was sad. But let’s go on!

I went in through the Great Hall just to settle some curiosity. I asked an usher if I could get into the main level now.

“At 11 O’Clock,” he said. “Right now you can visit the Yankees museum on the second level or go to Monument Park.” I started to walk away… “Oh, and you can go into field level.” I choose the later of all the places I could go.

When I went into the field level seats, I waited for B.P. to start. And when it did I went over to the Yankees dugout. Why? Tony Pena, Mick Kelleher, and a pitcher were throwing, in front of the dugout.

mike kelleher, tony pena, jorge posada

I didn’t get the ball, nor did I get a ball from when the Yankee pitchers were throwing.

the pitchers throwing (yankees)1

My 1st ball was a lucky ball. I saw a bullpen session going on in the Yankees bullpen. Some balls were hit there. At the end of one of the two bullpen sessions, I pointed out a ball to Dave Eiland and asked for it. He walked over and tossed it to me. I then had to work it around the corner spot because the ball wouldn’t fit in the opening.

90th ball of 2009

Another over-aggressive adult was here tonight. Let me tell you his story!

I was standing in the front row because Aceves promised me a ball and I was determined to get one. So when a ball was caught by him I asked Aceves for it. He looked at ME and he pointed at ME and then he tossed the balls towards ME (have you gotten yet that it was intended for me?). Well this “adult” shoved me out of the way, and grabbed the ball. Aceves glared at him and what did the “adult” do? Stood right next to me and continued to ask player’s for balls. A ball was hit RIGHT at ME. I didn’t have to me. Well guess what happened. He reached out and bobbled the ball, which dropped onto the field. I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad he didn’t get it. I was going to jump up and deflect each ball in the vicinity of him, and if a ball was thrown to his side I would block him from moving. Well when he stepped out of the first row and I took his spot. I think a 5’7″ kid wearing a 12 ½” glove can deflect balls if needed. Well having the annoyance blocked off I was able to get my 2nd, well-deserved ball from Alfredo Aceves (and 91st on the season), who this time put it into my glove (who knows maybe the adult would grab the ball from Aceves’s hand and say “IT WAS FOR ME!”)

alfredo aceves ball1

After that I went to left field because Tamp was throwing.

Tampa Bay throwing

I didn’t get any balls (except 2) because there were too many people. I didn’t get any autographs (except 1) because I was trying for balls the entire time. All the excepts came at the end of throwing, all within 5 minutes of each other. Here is what happened.

Randy and Lance Cormier finished throwing. Randy took the ball, put it in his glove, and started signing. I asked him a couple times, but he said no. So figuring he wouldn’t give me the ball, I hid my face, stuck out my hand, and had him sign two autographs (my 1st autograph).

randy choate, lance cormier signing

Well when he was finished he ran off, placed the ball, my 3rd ball, into my mitt, and then ran into the dugout. Then a trainer from a distance got my attention. Tom Foley, him, and Evan Longoria had been doing drills.

longoria, trainer, tom foley

I didn’t even ask for a ball, but he tossed me my 4th ball. You wanna know how close the time in between getting the two balls was? When the trainer got my attention I had my 3rd ball in my mitt. Wow.

randy choate ball

Then B.P. ended. The Rays weren’t taking B.P. apparently, so I wandered over to the bullpen just to look, and I saw bullpen catcher Scott Cursi.

scott cursi.jpg

He tossed a ball to someone nearby and I asked him for one also. He said he can’t, but when he walked back into the bullpen I asked him again. This time he wandered over to his bag (in the back right corner of the bullpen),

the rays bullpen

took out a ball, and walked towards me.

“See if you like this one,” he said and he tossed me my 5th ball. I liked it because it wasn’t what I expected. What was it?

LAST YEAR’S Yankee Stadium commemorative ball! I only had one other of these (rolled to me across the dugout last year by Alexie Ramirez), but this one is mint, except for a “Practice” stamp.

The other baddest (I know it is not a word) mark is this:

wheres the mark??

Can you see it? I can barely.

Skip forward to during the game since nothing else happened…

Aybar hit a home run into the Rays bullpen. I ran over there and into the bleachers. I asked the always generous Bobby Ramos for:

“La pelota home run”? How do you say “home run” in Spanish? Well he walked over, picked up a ball lying on the ground, and tossed it to me from a considerable distance, my 6th ball. It wasn’t the home run ball, just a regular MLB Ball.

bobby ramos and a baseball

Now earlier I saw Will Ferrell in the Legends. I read an article previously about him being the worst celebrity signer. It’s true. After some hard work to get over there, he blew me off, along with a little kid right next to me. I didn’t like that. I had to get a stub for section 122, row 25, seat 8 and work my way into the right spot for him. Oh, well…

5/20/09 Yankees vs. Orioles

I wanted to leave and get there before the gates open. Barely missed it. I got to the gates no later than 2 minutes after it opened.

“You leave school early to get here,” One senior citizen said.

“Nope, but I tried to leave as soon as it ended.

This was my first day with the new B.P. rules. Everyone is allowed anywhere in the outfield for the first hour and 40 minutes. After sitting in the seats for about 20 minutes of nothingness, some players came out. I looked at their numbers and saw that they were pitchers. Well after 5 minutes of confusive thought, B.P. started.

pitchers bp1?

Well that’s not it actually started, it’s a bit before.

Right field got crowded early and some other people (Gary, Donnie, Greg) were there, so I went over to left field. Also to show that evil usher that I can walk through his precious section.

Well guess what happened? I stood there for a bit, and then HE came over.

“You gotta stay over here or over there,” HE said in a Caribbean accent thick enough that I could barely understand him.

You have to be kidding me.

            Really.

            Jokes over.

When are you gonna start acting nice to me and let me sit there with you during the game.

            When.

He said that I would bump into, and hurt, little kids because I move so much. I said that I’d be careful and run through empty rows. He wouldn’t budge.

“It’s O.K. with me, but he’s crazy,” said another usher.

So I went back over to the crowded right field. I positioned myself in the first row. A couple balls were hit over there while the Yankees were warming up. I asked Dave Eiland for a ball, but he just nodded. Later when he picked up some balls, Dave tossed me my 1st ball, avoiding an incident like the one of Camden Yards.

75th ball of 2009

Oh and that was my 75th ball this year.

I then moved over to near the bullpen. The Yankees relievers were doing sprints and then catching balls thrown by a trainer, sort of like football. When they were close to finished I asked Jon for his ball when he was done. He nodded. So when he was done he tossed it to me, but a guy reached out, the ball hit his hand, and dropped onto the field. When Alfredo Aceves walked over to pick it up a girl next to me, no wait, a couple feet for me lied; “That ball was tossed to me!!!” Too bad for her though as Aceves can pick out liars, or maybe he decided to toss it to me, but I got my 2nd ball.

2nd ball 52009

I saw someone walking into the bullpen, where a couple ball were hit. I ran over and asked the guy, Ronnie Deck, for one of those baseballs. He has always been stingy, and how many people know his name? Well I asked Rick Kravitz, after Ronnie rejected me, for a ball. He told me to move back and then he tossed it to me, almost missing, for my 3rd ball today.

rick kravitz bullpen ball

As you see, there were also two more balls in the bullpen.

So after that I went over to where the Orioles were throwing. I didn’t get anything from them, but one guy had a ball. I was thinking: “Who is that?!” I looked at my roster. Not Guthrie, Not Hendrickson, Not Uehara, Oh Wait!

which oriole is that?

“Jim!” I repeated a couple times. “Could I have that ball?” He nodded and tossed me my 4th ball.

my 4th ball of 52009

I also needed an autograph. Chris Ray started running. I asked him to sign when he was done. He nodded and he did sign two for me for my 1st autograph.

chris ray walking away from me

The O’s started hitting so everyone was kicked out of field level. But not me. I had the whole left field foul line to myself. Maybe only a couple of other people with gloves. Mostly they were using their hats. I started my no competition by going to the corner spot and asking George Sherill for a nearby ball. He tossed it to me, but it was high and it tipped of my glove. Damn. I was right in the spot that the guy with the Rivera jersey was in.

corner spot 52009I moved because he was nice enough to say:

“If I caught that ball I would’ve given it to you because it was thrown right to you.” Wow that was nice. I was decked out in Orioles gear, he was wearing a Yankees jersey.

By then I was playing for fouls. One missed my glove by inches. Another was on the money. It was perfect. I even thought from the start “this is the one.” I leaned over and tried to scoop it up. The ball stopped right beneath me, so I just picked up my 5th ball, and my first hit ball in a while.

my 1st hit ball in a while...2009

Since the wall was crowded except by the pole, I went over there. I thought that some balls would become ground rule doubles. I saw a ball bounce on the warning track in right. It didn’t bounce. Uh-oh.

Well I got a ball. A ball that didn’t bounce. A ball stopped in front of the auxiliary scoreboard in left. Adam Eaton picked it up and scanned the crowd for an O’s fan. He wasn’t listening to the requests. He was looking for orange. Well he saw my bright bird shirt and my O’s hat, and he tossed the ball in my direction. I didn’t know if it was for me, or the woman next to me.

a bobbled ball from 52009

Well the guy next to me bobbled it and it plopped down on the track. I wasn’t sure who he was tossing it to, but when he walked over to pick it up, made eye contact with me, and tossed me my 6th ball. I know that it was intended for me.

adam eaton

So nothing else happened since B.P. ended soon after. I got some stubs for sections 126, 123, and 203. I got scolded at twice at the Yankees bullpen for trying to get a better view, and I didn’t get anything at the dugouts at any point.

I have been extremely over worked as of late. I have so many school homework and projects coming up that I haven’t had time to post. I am sorry for the delay. And just to show you how delayed I am, I transferred this to my computer on June 1st. When will it be posted?!?!

5/2/09 Yankees vs. Angels

UGH. I haven’t blogged for a while, but I’ll tell you at the end of this entry to save it for only the people who wan’t to hear my rant. So back to the game entry.

Our trip to the stadium starts off with the Grand Concourse being blocked off.

grand concourse blocked offb

Not only that but all the side streets were blocked off also. Long story short, we took the Deagan and ended up taking a familiar trip to the New Yankee Stadium. We walk past these old things, which will soon turn into this:

Heritage Field1

When we get there, another fabulous thing happens. We have tickets for the wrong day! It wouldn’t work, but I was able to use our Main tickets to get inside while my dad had a helpful experience with the ticket office and all 4 of us got in. When I get inside, there is an Angel running and A.J. and Joba throwing on opposite sides. What do I do?

angel trainer stubbourn

After stubbornly staying put for an Angel trainer (read on,) I go over to the Yankees bullpen. There are some people there already so what I do to stand out is I go to corner of the open air food area above the black. This was my view:

view from top of sun cafe1

After being denied by Bruney and Joba, I call out to Mike Harkey for a ball. He tosses one to me, but it falls short.

            “One more!”

Well, luckily he gives me another attempt , but that one falls inexcusably short.

            “Jump!” Mike says.

I ask a bleacher usher if I can go down, and he lets me. I get Mike’s attention to show that I am done closer, but he says:

            “There ya go.”

Dave Eiland is throwing with Brian Bruney, and when he’s done, he points at me with his glove. I get ready, but he tosses THAT ball short and it hits a sign! UGH. (Reminiscing of that day in Camden Yards). Wow.

Luckily, since it was his fault, he gets another and tosses me that ball, my 1st ball to end my streak of missed catches.

bunch of yankees 5209

If you can’t see, Dave Eiland is just off screen on the right, and the ball on the ground is the one I got.

Nothing else happens until less than half the Angels throw. When I get there, the mystery guy from before (trainer) is throwing.

Note: I still think he is a player.

Well when he is done he tosses me my 2nd ball today and my 55th on the season.

mystery guy2?!

Who is he?!

Then two of the Angels, each with baseballs, finish throwing and stand right next to each other. I know one of them is Rafael Rodriguez, so I ask him for a ball.

rafael and jose

Rafael is on the left.

But the guy next to him tosses me a ball, my 3rd ball. It turns out, after looking at team photos, that it is Jose Arrendedo.

jose arrendendo and ball3

Now just to show you why you need the opposing team’s gear, a kid next to me with a pinstripe jersey ask the guy (trainer) who gave me my 2nd ball for a ball. The guy look at the kid, then points to me and says: “Angels!”

Now, while he is walking in I ask Rafael Rodriguez for his autograph. He gladly comes over and signs two for my 1st autograph today.

And then a bit later I ask an unknown player to sign, and he walks over to sign two for my 2nd autograph so far today. Turns out I got both Rodriguez’s (Fernando and Rafael).

fernando rodriguez signing

All the Angels have disappeared, but Jered Weaver comes out to throw. I position myself in the corner spot and when he finishes, he tosses me a ball for my 4th ball today from far away.

jered weaver and spier

Jered is on the right, and Spier is on the left.

Since the Yankees are still hitting in BP, I go over to fair territory. I stay there for a couple minutes,
avoiding ushers in left

before an usher asks to see my ticket. I say over a couple sections and move over two sections. The reason I am so clsoe to the wall is that I don’t want to be noticed by people, but he came over to me.

One usher I know comes up behind me taps my shoulder and says:

“Now I know you’re not supposed to be here.”

“Well it’s O.K. I’m not causing any trouble, right?”

He laughs and walks away, but then the evil usher comes a couple minutes later and asks to see my ticket. I say “over in 130,” so he kicks me over there. Turns out the usher was trying to convince the evil one I am not bad.

By about 1 hour and 20 minutes before game time, Vlad, Kelvim, and the Mystery guy come out. Kelvim throws with someone, while the other 2 run, (still think he’s a player).

Orlando Mercado is the guy throwing with Kelvim, so when they finish, Orlando gives Kelvim 3 balls. He tosses on up to the main level and then with me, standing in the second row, holding my hat, Kelvim tosses me my 5th ball over the first row.

The Yankees finish B.P. with very little time between now and the 1st pitch, so there is no Angels B.P. When I go to the corner spot, an usher asks me:

“So you’re coming Monday and Tuesday with a Red Sox’s cap?”

“No, I’m coming Tuesday…with a Red Sox cap.”

A cop earlier also noticed me changing hats, but no one seems to have a problem with it.

noticing police officer1

Brian Fuentes, who is one autograph I want, walks out to the bullpen. I ask him to sign, and he does, gladly walking over and signing two baseballs for my 3rd autograph today. He starts to chat with people and I think:

“Isn’t he the stuck up closer? No wait, that’s K-Rod!”

friendly brian fuentes

Like the A’s on 4/21, Orlando Mercado and Mike Napoli throw. When they finish I let out an “Orlando!” He turns around, sees me, and tosses the ball towards me. It is short, but I lean over and barely get it on the webbing of my glove for my 6th ball.
orlando mercado distance!

That is how far away the ball was thrown to me from.

Game Time!

Here’s a short summary of during the game:

2nd-3rd: Sit near Legends for foul balls.

4 ½ th- 7th: Work my way to Delta Sky Club seats.

7th-8th: Try for foul balls, none.

delta sky club 050209

Perfect right? Well, there wall only one foul ball near me, but I get seats there for the whole game next time, I am getting a ball.

8 ½ th-9th: Ask people for stubs.

Now for the ticket stub. I immediately go to an usher. He looks at the ticket and says:

“Someone gave you this ticket stub, didn’t they?”

Confused and honest I said “Yes.”

“I can’t let you down.”

After disguising myself I go to the usher at the staircase over and he waves me down. HAHA! That that bad usher #2!

ticket stub and dugouts for 50209

But sadly, I get nothing from the dugouts.

I am afraid of the outfield. I might get too noticed, so I have to play right field now.

I almost forgot about the virus rant. So what happened was that my computer suddenly was new. Like it was a “Temporary User Profile” and McAfee wanted to know if I wanted to accept a registry change. So I blocked the change and called my dad. Originally, all of my documents and pictures were gone, POOF! Then I realized it deleted all of the saved passwords. So we sent it away, and it turns out that it was indeed a virus and that the virus was a: “secret administrative account and that had we allowed the registry change it would’ve made the computer seem like nothing happened, but all of the stuff I do, all of the information I get would be sent to a master computer which sorts through everything.” Luckily my computer didn’t have any financial or special information so it won’t do any harm. I am getting my computer back on Monday so I needed to create a new password because I was falling behind on my blogging so I am using my parents computer. I hate viruses. I hate the person who created that virus. Anybody who creates a virus and sends it to people is a complete a-hole. Ugh, viruses suck.

4/6/09 Orioles vs. Yankees

I wanted to arrive in the ballpark early, like 1:30, which is 30 minutes before Eutaw Street opens. I saw on the Orioles A-Z Guide that the gates open 2 hours prior before each game, so since I thought we were early and the gates hadn’t open, I decided to use my camera to see if there was BP. When I took the photo I saw people by the dugouts.

Thumbnail image for BP looking and Fans at dugout

WTH?!

So I scan my ticket (the people said the gates open 3 hours and 15 minutes prior), run inside, and see two Yankees, Joba and another, warming up. So I position myself behind them and when Joba’s done I ask for the ball, but he tosses it to someone else.

Then Jon Albaladejo and Brian Bruney warm-up and they basically warm-up right in front of me. I don’t need to ask for their autographs because two people next to me are trying to get autographs. So, when Jon’s done I call out for the ball, but he tosses the ball to the left. But then Jon comes over and signs for me and I get my 1st MLB autograph of the season and day.

Thumbnail image for Jon Albaladejo auto1

That’s me with the Pinstripe Jersey and Yankees Hat above Jonathan Albaladejo.

Then while asking for a ball from the players a kid next to me says:

            “You’re getting no baseballs.”

            I’ll prove him wrong.

First, I ask Jose Veras for a ball (in Spanish) and he obliges. But instead of throwing me the ball, he walks over and hands me my 1st baseball of the season to me.

Thumbnail image for Jose Veras 3rd Ball

You see Phil Coke off to the right? He makes his way over to me and I get him for my 2nd MLB autograph today. And then Jose Veras is signing a little to the right, so I move over and get him on my 2 autograph baseballs for my 3rd MLB Autograph today.

Then after D’maso Marte finishes throwing, I ask him for a ball, and he throws it, but I barely miss it. I know that last paragraph was just condensed, but it all happened really quickly.

I then see someone warming up in the Yankees bullpen, so I throw on my Randy Johnson #41 Pinstripe jersey and rush over there. When I get over there I see A.J. Burnett warming up, with Dave Eiland and Chien-Ming Wang standing next to him.

When A.J. finishes, Dave Eiland ends up with the ball. I call his name and he tosses it to me from the other side of the bullpen. His throw is a little too short and to the left, but I can’t move over because there’s a fence blocking me. So, I have to lean down, almost so I’m balancing on the railing, and stretch my arm out far. I catch my 2nd baseball today with room to spare. When I get up I hear Dave Eiland say:

                                                      “You’re good.”

Then it starts to rain again at 3:15. All the fans duck for cover, expect my mom and I with our umbrella and a couple of other poncho wearing fans.

Then some Yankees come to stretch. Nothing happens, so I think that that is the only stretching there are doing, so I go over to the Yankees dugout to try and get Jeter’s pre-warm-up ball. He tosses it to a little kid in the front row though. So I just sit in the second row, and watch the ceremonies for the next 30 minutes. I like the orange balloon arch and carpet in center, but I feel that there are too many fireworks.

They have 2 different types of fireworks after each starting Oriole is introduced, and then they have VP Joe Biden throw out the first pitch, cool.

I should try to get his autograph…

Then after the ceremonies finish I try to get another ball because I need a 3rd, want at least a 4th, and maybe a 5th. While changing sides I switch hats and put on or take off my Yankees jersey depending on the team I’m going to. I am wearing a bright orange Orioles shirt underneath. I experience a lot of Yankees hate from fans such as:

            “*&$^ the Yankees!”

“BOOOOOO!!!” a guy trying to scare me.

“We are sorry about the series,” and etc.

There are a lot more Oriole fans than expected. Also, this game is the highest crowd ever for opening day at Camden Yards.

At about the 4th inning I decide to try to get Joe Biden’s autograph. They have about 7 secret service men at the top of the aisle, about 7 more sitting in seats around him, and then two ushers at the top of the aisle, so I decide to go into the other aisle and cut into his aisle. I get an aisle seat on his aisle just before the innings over, and then Joe Biden starts to leave. He signs autographs and take pictures with people, but once he gets to me…

I get both (my 4th total autograph). J So after I get his autograph, I go back to switching sides.

Finally, after switching sides for a bit, I get a ball. It was a foul tip towards first base coach Mick Kelleher. Since he is by the Orioles dugout, I am all in Orioles gear, but I call out his name, he lobs it underhand towards me, and I reach out and catch it, my 3rd ball of the game.

Then I go to the bullpen to try and get a ball from either team, but I get nothing, zip. I decide I’ll try to have my fourth ball to be the Yankees infield warm-up ball, so I go to the inner corner of the Yankees dugout. Guess who ends up with the ball? Mick Kelleher. I call out his name, and he flips me my 4th ball of the game.

I decide that that’s enough for now. I’m not going to try as hard as I did before, so I don’t get anything. I try for something from the Orioles dugout after the game, but I get nothing again. That’s okay. 3 MLB autographs, 1 autograph from the Vice President, and 4 baseballs? I’d say that’s a good day for my first day in the ballhawk league.
